Club policy update

The committee has decided that for unofficial trips where club kit is used, the Equipment Secretary’s permission must be given. We welcome and actively encourage all of our members to be proactive, to paddle as much as they can and to make best use of the kit we have available BUT adequate safety MUST be present and you must be declared fit to paddle what it is you plan to paddle (by either the captain, training secretary or a member of the committee deemed proficient in assessing your ability). We must know where our kit is and how it is being used and that it will be returned. We do not aim to bog members down in too much policy or rules and regulations, but it should be clear that the idea of this is simply to protect the safety of club members and to ensure that kit is not misused in such away it becomes unavailable for club members. Everything we ask here can be sorted with a quick phone call. There are no exceptions.
