  1. Did you have any kayaking experience before joining the club?

Yes, I have been kayaking for about 5 years before joining the club.

  2. What made you want to join?

The fact I already kayaked, and the club seemed like a lot of fun and was very active.

  3. What is your highlight of the club calendar?

The trip to the Alps, as it is an end of year blowout holiday with your greatest friends. There is so much fun to be had as well as some of the best kayaking of the year.

  4. Tell us your best EUCC experience.

Definitely kayaking down the upper dart, undertaking the hardest river I have paddled as I felt really pushed. The experience was filled with adrenaline and scary moments, but I still managed to have so much fun and came out at the bottom with a smile on my face.

  1. Did you have any kayaking experience before joining the club?

I paddled flat water a few times with Scouts before uni, but could barely paddle in a straight line.

  2. What made you want to join?

I’d planned to join rowing before coming to Exeter, then I saw the membership fees. Thankfully Robin showed me the error of my ways and signed me up for a freshers trip. I was pleasantly surprised to make it down the weir dry headed and after the Tivy trip I was hooked.

  3. What is your highlight of the club calendar?

My highlight of the club calendar has to be the Tryweryn trip in May. Easily the best water the club paddles before the Alps, it’s a great chance to practice some skills, push yourself and see how much you’ve improved over the year.

  4. Tell us your best EUCC experience.

My best experience of EUCC (so far) has been the Adventure Ball. A night of tuxedoed shenanigans in an adventure playground- without a doubt the most fun I’ve had all year, if not ever!

  1. Did you have any kayaking experience before joining the club?

    None at all.

  2. What made you want to join?

It was a completely spontaneous decision. I enjoyed the taster session and everyone was so nice and welcoming. Plus the stories of all the trips the club does sounded very exciting along with how active they are.

  3. What is your highlight of the club calendar?

The 2 week kayaking holiday in the Alps. Paddling exciting turquoise crystal clear rivers in Slovenia with great company is certainly a good memory. Also all the fun and laughs you have cooking, camping, drinking and exploring together!

  4. Tell us your best EUCC experience.

A difficult question, so many good moments. In terms of kayaking, successfully doing river rolls and doing harder features on a river without swimming. Also very importantly being surrounded by such a great bunch of people!
