‘My face’ play in the Cornish League

After a surprising lack of faff, we set off on our long journey to Kernow. The team were hyped and confident, we had won a match in Redruth before and we wanted more. Everyone was in their own zones mentally preparing for the high level canoe polo ahead.

Our beloved captain quickly took control and decided which team to play in our first game against Bude A. It was a good first half for Exeter, only lagging by one point after Rich put in one of his classic power goals. In the second half team ‘My face’ lost focus and let a couple of goals slip by. Iain popped a cheeky one to Rich who sold the keeper with a fake and cannoned the ball into the net. The first game finished 6-2 to Bude B.

The next game Mad Dog (Kate), went mad. She demonstrated insane aggression and unspeakable violence scaring Hayle away. Hayle soon manned up and even though Dani, El Capitano and Iain put up a massive defence the game was lost 5-2.

Exeter’s darkest hour (20 minutes).  Don’t want to write about this apart from a great goal by Marie, a pillar of hope in a pool of despair and darkness.

Our final game was well played by all but we had drunk too much over the Christmas break and were not quite back to the fitness levels expected of ‘My face’. Although there were some great episodes of play ‘My face’ suffered a defeat.

Jason Derulo lifted spirits and the Baywatch team soon put a smile on my face J. Cheers to everyone who came. Great driving Kate LOL. And of course cheers to Jen for organising and leading ‘My face’.
